MICHAEL EMPERIOM [contemporary composer]
In the last 25 years, Michael Emperiom has been one of the most successful composers for video game music. While he has written music for numerous No. 1 hits, he has also been involved in his own projects such as his art project bachvolution, which celebrated its concert debut in 2023 and whose visual artworks were on display in the exhibition “The Poetry of the Blockchain”.
Emperiom has collaborated with artists, brands and events all over the world. His most famous work is probably the music of the mobile game „June’s Journey“, which encourages players from all over the world to send him letters and emails nearly every day.
Michael’s music for the video game Switchcraft has broken the record for the highest amount of music in a mobile Game.
Emperiom’s track record includes a couple of famous video games such as Clash of Kings and Total War and the classic mobile game Lords & Knights. For BBC he scored the music for the Doctor Who video game, and for the world famous rock band Queen the jingles for their very own pinball machine.
In 2010 Emperiom co.-founded SOUND OF GAMES together with Filipp Issa. They became an integral part of the games industry and have celebrated worldwide success. In 2023 they have reached their milestone of 1 billion listeners in a single month.
From 2000 – 2010 Emperiom has been the lead composer of the former German music label Early Bird Records, where he composed music for countless TV shows, ads and feature films.
